Scene 1: City Cells
Joe and the guys are sitting in the
city cells as the news of Donovans shooting sinks in. Joe is
in the corner with a look of anger and frustration coming
over him as Sonny paces the floor directly in front of him.
Joe:
JESUS CHRIST SONNY, SIT THE FUCK DOWN!
Sonny:
Ok,ok, sorry Joe, I'm just worried about Donnie.
Joe:
(Putting his hand on Sonny's shoulder but not taking his
gaze off the floor) I know pal, so am I....so am I.
Peter:
Who dimed us off Joe?
Sonny stands up and almost leaps
over to Peter.
Sonny:
(Grabbing Peter's mouth as Joe looks over at them without
saying a word) ~whispering~ Shut your fuckin mouth. We do
not discuss anything here.
Joe:
(stands up and walks over to the cell door and looks out at
the officer sitting at the desk) Hey fuck face, I aint got
my phone call yet!
Desk Officer:
(Stretching) Oh yeah, didn't they tell you? We are having
the phones serviced..sorry, you are going to have to wait!
Joe:
Convenient!
Joe turns to look at his men who
are all looking up at him as if waiting for orders on what
to do next. Just then a man enters the room and the desk
officer stands up and Joe turns around to see Dylan Kennedy,
long time family friend and Jay's personal lawyer.
Joe:
(Shaking hands through the bars) Thank God you're here!
Dylan:
Officer, release these men, I am sure you will find the
paperwork is all in order!
The desk officer reluctantly walks
over and opens the cell door. As the men leave the cell they
all look at the officer with a look of defiance and
arrogance. Joe is the last to leave the cell, he looks at
the officer and winks as he leaves the cell. The men leave
the station and Sonny and Joe leave in a separate car with
Dylan.
Dylan:
Donovan managed to call Jay before he was shot.
Joe:
How is he doing?
Dylan:
Lucky kid that one.. doctors say the bullet went right
through his chest and missed every vital organ. He has a
fucking horshoe up his ass, that's for sure. He is going to
be just fine.
Both Sonny and Joe let out a sigh
of relief and Joe sits back and lights up a cigar that Dylan
gives him.
Sonny:
Did Donnie say who shot him.
Dylan:
I will let Jay speak to you about that, I already said more
than I should.
The scene fades out as the car
drives off into the dark.
Scene 2: Jay's office downtown
Joe, Sonny, Jay and Johny Fingers
sit in Jay's office as Jay is going over some business.
Jay:
You both know Johny, he is now in charge of my Philly
operation. Frank is a guest of the Government for the time
being so Johny will take over all operations down there.
This bullshit with Totino can't go on forever, it's bad for
business on both ends.
Joe:
He still has to answer for Vic!
Jay:
And he will... Seems my shipment didn't come in?
Sonny:
The cars? Vito said he was taking care of it.
Jay:
Yeah, well Vito is M.I.A. and has been for several days now.
Johny:
We suspect Totino killed him but we got nothing to prove he
was involved yet.
Joe:
We all know he was.
Jay:
Donnie will pull through his ordeal just fine, but until he
does I want you guys to surround the wagons and pull
together. This family has never been in this kind of
situation before and I am counting on you guys. You have the
top chair positions and I expect nothing but the best from
each of you.
Joe:
We can't do anything with Brady breathing down my neck all
the time.
Johny:
Let me see what I can do.
Jay:
You sure you want to get involved in that?
Johny:
I got a guy down there. He can get me some information..he
owes me big. The cocksucker is into me for over twenty G's.
Joe:
Be careful, those cunts are slippery!
Jay:
Now back to the Donnie situation. It was Pappalia who took
the shot. Cocksucker was too scared to finish the job.
Donnie wants to do this one himself.
Sonny:
Skip, all due respect, Donnie is in no shape to be doing
this..
Jay:
Donnie is Captain of his crew..he asked, I gave the green
light..end of story!
Sonny:
I understand.. I am just sayin..
Joe reaches over and put his hand
on Sonny's arm and shakes his head no and Sonny just goes
quiet again.
John:
Look, we know where the cars were taken, we just don't know
if they are still there.
Sonny:
I doubt it.
Jay:
So do I but it's all we got to work with right now.
Joe:
I'll take care of it. If it's there,
we will bring it home bro.
Scene ends with Jay putting his
hand on Joe's shoulder and the camera pans out.
Scene 3: Chop Shop located out of
town
Sonny and Peter are sneaking in the
back of the chop shop. The lights are all out except for a
dim light faintly glowing through the shop window. Through
the window they can see three men sitting at a table. Inside
the shop is the transport still loaded with the cars. Both
men look a bit excited as they begin to look for a way in.
The find a door in the back and they try it..it is unlocked.
Sonny: (whispering) Holy shit, it's
unlocked.
Peter: Check for any sign of an
alrm trigger (he slowly takes out his gun and loads on in
the chamber)
Sonny: Doesn't seem to be any?
Peter: You try it, I will go make
sure we haven't been spotted.
Peter makes his way back to the
front as Sonny makes his way inside. He can see the men
sitting at the table. They are playing cards and a
television can be heard in the background. The are talking
about the truck and what they are going to do.
Unknown man #1:
Johny Boy told me he'd be here in the
morning. Say's GT is gonna send this load to Boston.
Unknown man #2:
What's our end?
Unknown man #1:
Five Large, just for babysitting
(chuckles)
As they are talking, Sonny
accidentally kicks a paint can and immediately freezes where
he is.
Unknown man #3:
(stands up) SHHHHHHHHH Shut the fuck up a minute!
Unknown man #1:
What?
Unknown man #3:
I heard something.
Unknown man #2:
I'm checking it out, wait here.
The other two men stay at the table
as the third man goes off in the direction of the sound.
Sonny is visibly shaken and frantically looks for a place to
hide. He ducks down beside a pile of tires in the back and
the man slowly makes his way towards him. Sonny knows that
it will cause too much noise to kill him, so he chooses to
remain silent. As the man walks up on Sonny, a cat runs out
from behind Sonny and out in front of the man, scaring him
half to death.
Unknown man #2:
(Yelling) It's a friggin cat. I'm
gonna go take a piss.
The other two men start laughing
and go back to playing cards. Sonny watches the man walk out
the door he came in. As the man gets outside, Peter is there
to greet him. Before the man can say a word, Peter stabs him
in the throat and holds his mouth shut as he slumps to the
ground. Sonny comes out and help Peter drag the body to the
bushes. Peter and Sonny make their way back into he shop.
They slowly make their way in and they can see the two men
still playing cards. Peter is looking around for any weapons
they may have. Sonny spots a gun on the table to the left of
the two men but that is the only weapon in sight. Peter
comes out of the darkness and walks towards the men who's
backs are towards him. They obviously think it is their
friend coming back from taking a piss. Peter walks up behind
the men and pulls out his gun, but just as he does this, a
voice is heard from the opposite direction.
Unknown man #4:
Whoa... what the fuck??
Peter looks over but it is too
late. The man shoots Peter three times in the chest. Peter
hits the floor dead while Sonny looks on in horror. He makes
his way out the back door but knocks over a barrel on the
way.
Unknown man #1:
Someone else is here, make sure he
doesn't leave here!
The other two men dash out the
front door in pursuit of Sonny who is now running for his
life down the back alley towards his car. As he is running,
shots can be heard as the two men shoot at him while they
chase him. Sonny makes it to his car and drops his keys
while trying to get in. The men are starting to catch up.
Sonny gets in the car and starts it up. He plunges it into
drive and hits the pedal. He screams out of the parking lots
and as he looks in the rear view mirror he can see the two
men slowly fading away in the distance. He starts to vibrate
with adrenalin as he realizes how close to death he came. He
sees a payphone and grabs it and dials Joe's number.
The sound of a phone ringing can be
heard. Sonny hears Joe's voice on the other end saying
hello.
Sonny:
Peter's gone Joe.. He's..gone
Joe:
Gone? You saying what I think you're
sayin?
Sonny:
Don't make me say it again ( Sonny
fights to hold back the tears)
Joe:
Ok look, there is a motel six located
just outside of town. I want you to go down there and wait
for me. I will get a hold of John and we will come get you.
Sonny:
I'm sorry Joe, I should have done something, anything.
Joe:
Then what? have two of you gone. You
did what you had to do Sonny, Don't blame yourself.
Sonny:
You should have seen his face Joe.
Joe:
(YELLING) Sonny! Pull it together and get out of there now.
We will deal with it when I get there.
Sonny hangs up the phone and gets
back into his car. He drives off towards the hotel. As he
passes by a black sedan pulls out of the parking lot and
begins to follow him.
